The Vikings are ecstatic to win another championship in the worlds best hockey pool. This season presented different challenges compared to previous seasons, which allowed us to appreciate this victory most. Ideal trading scenarios were difficult to come by and the deadline blockbuster by the John and Greg created the closest battle for 1st since the Blackhawks/Bruins of the 2000 season.
A great LTP season is not only determined by the battle for first but also the other developments in the league. The Vikings would like to congratulate the following teams for their accomplishments:
Blackhawks: Finishing in the top 3 for the 5th consecutive season.
Leafs: Finishing in the top 3 for the first time
Canucks: The biggest jump in the standings
The race for the top 3 prematurely ended at the deadline this past season, which we felt was a disappointment. We hope/anticipate a battle of 5-6 teams for the top 3 next season, which will add another level of excitement for the last 2 months of the season. The vision of this pool was conceived in a Holy Cross class room nearly 15 years ago and the direction of this pool in the next couple of seasons will determine if that vision will be met. We have yet to encounter a pool as exciting and competitive as LTP; we believe the members of this pool are ready to take it to the next level.
We would like to thank every GM for making this pool as interesting as it is. Also, a great thanks to John for administrating the lifetimepool.com and mediating any situation that comes up.
