In what was one of the most dramatic finishes in Lifetimepool history, the championship came down to the last few seconds of last game of the season. By the narrowest of margins the Devils, managed by Charlie Ciranni came from an unbelievable deficit to win the championship. Entering the last weekend the Devils were behind the Coyotes by 13 points. With a remarkable Saturday night the Devils stole first place by 2 points going into the last game of the season. This is the 2nd Championship for the Devils, who also won the inaugural season.
The Coyotes had a magnificent season, and were favored to be the champions right up to the last minute. Their managerial style was nearly proven, and almost became the 2nd expansion team in Lifetimepool history to win the championship. The third place honors are rightfully given to the Islanders. At trade deadline night, the Islanders found themselves in first place though could not hold the lead. Both the Islanders and Coyotes both competed admirably from the beginning to the end.
The Oilers will have the first pick in the LTP entry draft in October 2013.
