League Format
- 12 Franchises: each managed as a long-term hockey organization.
- Lifetime Keeper Ownership: players remain owned until traded or released.
- Annual Entry Draft: five linear rounds with tradeable draft-pick ownership.
- Top-Performer Scoring: the best 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 1 goalie count toward regular-season standings.
- Full Statistical Portability: when a player is traded, his accumulated season statistics move with him.
- Regular Season Championship: awarded to the highest-scoring franchise.
- Lifetimepool Playoff Cup: a separate postseason competition conducted during the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Lifetimepool began in 2001 and has evolved over more than two decades while maintaining the core principles that defined the original league: franchise ownership, competitive balance, accountability, and continuity.
Rosters, draft assets, trades, championships, and records carry forward from season to season. The technology may change, but the league remains built around the same long-term competition and friendships that created it.
League Office
Lifetimepool is governed by its franchise owners under the league’s collective rules and traditions. League administration is responsible for maintaining the integrity and continuity of league operations.
Administrative responsibilities include maintaining official rosters, statistics and standings, processing trades, preserving draft-pick ownership, administering the annual draft, managing the Playoff Cup, maintaining league financial records, and preserving the historical record of the league.
